The Process
How it works.
It’s simple by design. When you purchase an event ticket, your money goes directly back into our communities. Not to just one cause, but to a handful of local efforts that are near and dear to our hearts, like education, local athletics, and childhood development. Why did Holistic Planning start Holistic Planning Cares?
Our advisors and clients live in communities across the country, and many of them have told us they want to give back where they live. Holistic Planning Cares is our way of doing that together. Each Holistic Planning office can host an event in its own community, with the proceeds going to local organizations doing meaningful work. It's a separate 501(c)(3) nonprofit, not a marketing arm of the firm, and 100% of net proceeds go to the causes we support.
Is my ticket cost or donation tax-deductible?
Direct donations to Holistic Planning Cares are intended to be tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. For event tickets, only the portion above the fair market value of what you receive (dinner, entertainment) is deductible — we'll state that amount on your receipt. As always, consult your own tax advisor about your situation.
How do you decide which organizations receive the money?
Each event benefits organizations in the community where it's held. The local Holistic Planning office nominates candidates, and a selection committee chooses based on local impact, financial transparency, and alignment with our mission. We favor groups where a gift moves the needle. Clients anywhere are welcome to nominate organizations for future events.
How will I know where the money went?
After each event we publish a short report: total raised, event costs, and the amount delivered to each beneficiary. Every donor receives it by email, and it lives on this page. If we're asking for your generosity, you deserve to see exactly where it landed.
Can I give if I can't attend an event?
Absolutely. You can donate directly [link] in any amount, and it's just as welcome as a ticket purchase. If you'd like your gift directed to a specific community, just tell us when you give. Non-clients are welcome to give and attend, too — this is open to anyone who shares the cause.
Can my business sponsor an event?
Yes, and sponsors make these events possible. Sponsorships can be tied to a specific event or spread across multiple locations. Contact your local Holistic Planning office and we'll walk you through the options.
